I want to have a baby but dh got a vasectomy 6 years ago before we met. dh doesnt want to get a vasectomy reversal cause he says its not 100% that we can have one after he goes through it and it is costly. Has anyone got pregnant or know someone that has after a vasectomy? How much does a vasectomy reversal cost? Will it be successfull after 11 years??

Has anyone got pregnant or know someone that has after a vasectomy? How much does a vasectomy reversal cost? Will it be successfull after 11 years?? My dh just had a VR after 6 years in March 2007. He too was skeptical the first time I suggested a reversal for the same reasons that you mentioned. It is true that the longer you wait to have a vasectomy reversed the less likely Dh will be able to produce enough healthy sperm. However, I have a friend who's husband had his reversed after 17 years and they were pregnant 2 months later and now have 3 children post VR. As far as cost, I would like to recommend our surgeon to you. Dr David Wilson in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His fee was only $1500.00 with no hidden costs. The procedure was performed in his private office under local anethsetic. We were very pleased with him. If you have done any research yet you will find that alot of surgeons want to charge 5-10 thousand for a reversal. Dr Wilson is a christian who has dedicated his practice to pro life and making it possible for couples to have affordable reversals. Hope this was helpful! And good luck to both of you! -------------------- |

It is nice to hear i'm not alone and that a reverse vasectomy can be successful after such a long time. I'm still doing research into the procedure. Your post was helpful!

It took me 2 years to convince DH to have VR. He had it done on Feb 7 of this year. I am now 7 weeks pregnant. His vas was 4 years old. I know of several success VR even further out than that as well. I believe the most important thing is to find a good doctor. Someone who does VR's as their profession not just on the "side". Good luck to you.
